I just got a Breitling Navitimer 1 Automatic 38mm as a gift but am a bit concerned it's too small for my wrist / frame. For reference, I'm 6'6" 250lbs and my wrist is ~7 1/4" (closest to hand) but probably a bit larger if measured higher up. If anything, an exceptionally long L2L and wide/heavy lugs helps small watches wear larger. Try wearing a 15 inch collar when you have a 16 inch neck and you'll strangle yourself. About to buy one of these myself, maybe the exact same reference. 38mm is a perfectly serious size for a men’s tool watch - maybe the best possible size, since for the average 6.8”-7” wrist a 40mm watch can wear large, and 36mm can wear too small. But that’s splitting hairs for most folks. My advice is that those who state larger watches look goofy or do not look well on those with smaller wrist sizes are completely wrong. I wear my Breitling Super Avenger 2 as a daily wear. I also wear it in complete confidence. Nobody has ever informed me that this watch looks too big for my wrists.
