That means you now have a few size options when buying a Speedmaster, and though 41.5mm is larger than the size of the original 2915 K (38.5mm), it's MUCH more wearable for us normal-wristed folk than the 44mm+ size of the previous caliber 9300 Speedmaster. As said, the new Omega Speedmaster 57 Chronograph Co-Axial Master Chronometer 40.5mm (yes, that’s its full name) is a strong evolution over the previous model. From a 41.5mm automatic watch, we now moved to a smaller, more compact hand-wound model. Review of the Omega Speedmaster '57 Co-Axial Chronograph watch with exhibition case back dome, new colors and finishes. Omega released a new self-winding Speedmaster with its killer co-axial movement and called it the Speedmaster '57. It looked like the original reference 2915 from 1957 in so, so many ways, right down to the crown-guard-less, polished case, and steel bezel.
In the years that followed, Omega introduced several variations of the Speedmaster ’57, all with a 41.5mm case. Speedmaster ’57 Co-Axial Master Chronometer — A smaller, thinner case with caliber 9906. Earlier this year, Omega showed us the new generation of the Speedmaster ’57, now housed in a 40.5mm case. So I just picked up this almost-new Speedmaster 57 from a local reseller. A very nice 35% off RRP for a watch with box and original receipt, and dated August 2022. I’ve been itching for a Speedmaster for a while, and was always close to pulling the trigger on a sapphire sandwich Moonwatch.
