Pusher fell out on Daytona 519LN Rolex General Discussion
This is specifically for reinstalling the screw down portion. If you're installing a new complete pusher, the pusher must first be disassembled and then installed piece by piece. More on this at the end.
Imagine my surprise when taking my Rolex Daytona out of the watch box last night and watching the bottom chrono pusher just fall to the floor! Has this happened to anyone else with a WG Daytona? (I have the 116519LN, 2018 model)
Search for certified watchmakers in your area then call around to see who still has a Rolex parts account. Better to say you have a chronograph with a broken pusher then say it's a Rolex over the phone. Most will say "send it to Rolex" if you do. Unscrew the pushers (on both sides of the crown) by turning in the counterclockwise direction. Make sure the chronograph seconds hand is stopped. If it isn’t already stopped, you can press the upper pusher (above the crown, at 2 o’clock) to stop it manually.
The Daytona is Rolex’s only model with screw-down pushers as their YachtMaster II chronograph does not use screw down crowns, yet is rated to 100 meters as well. Many other chronograph manufacturers do not use screw-down pushers but claim their watches are water tight to 100 meters. Most pushers are fixed to the case with an internal screw, which also activates the stop/start or reset mechanism in the movement. Sometimes these screws back out - it happens with speedmasters, it happens with Seikos. If the Daytona is built the same way the movement comes out and the screw is reinserted into the pusher cap and tightened.
There’s a new 4131 movement, which is not “new” but an evolution of 4130; and the 4132 special Le Mans edition gets a 24 hour counter (a different gear ratio with 24 clicks instead of 12). Apart from the end of protruding SELs, the bracelets/claps look to be unchanged.
